The Macomb County Jail Ministry is designated by the Macomb County Sheriff to supply the religious needs of current inmates.

The incarcerated of this institution are provided with:

  • Worship Services
  • Bible Study Classes
  • Religious Films and Filmstrips
  • Tapes of Religious Songs
  • Religious Literature Distribution
  • Bible Correspondence Courses
  • Counseling for Inmates
  • Assistance to Pastors in their visitation and ministry to inmates.

Macomb County Jail Ministry is an all volunteer organization representing various faith communities within Macomb County and the Metropolitan area.

Daily, there are numerous requests for Bibles, Korans, Religious Materials, and Pre-Release Needs. For examples: The need of soft covered complete Bibles, Korans, Concordances, and books. Donations of bus tickets, clothing, and food certificates are always needed.

Upon release from Jail, many inmates do not have proper clothing, ID, a place to stay, their next meal, or a way to travel to the geographic area they might call "Home".

On-going support of daily crisis response and seasonal projects need to be sustained.

The coordinating Chaplaincy Representative are sponsored by their Faith Community. The Protestant Community sponsor is Steve Malek.

Jail Ministry is a Home Mission field in great need of prayer, time, personnel, materials and money.
