Please call our DISPATCH if you need police assistance or want
to make a report. It is important that we get information as soon as possible
when an incident takes place so please contact dispatch as soon as you realize
police are needed. Our deputies are never far away.
 
Lately, we have been receiving requests for assistance through
e-mail or via social media; some sites we aren’t even aware of. E-mail, as well
as social media posts, does not always get answered immediately which slows the
process to handle your call. Dispatch is also the first step in making a report
so that all information is logged properly and handled in a timely
manner.
 
We would also like to remind you that it is not necessary to
come into our lobby to make a report. If you need to leave your home for safety
purposes, then by all means, you may come to our lobby, but coming to the lobby
slows our response time. For example, if you live in Macomb Township and wish to
make a police report by coming to our lobby, a Macomb Township car has to be
called from Macomb Township to respond to our lobby to take your call. Our
deputies could get to you quicker if you stayed at your home and your wait would
be much more comfortable as our deputies handle incidents in progress
first.
